Shaking Hands with Ghosts

by Katrin Bretschneider

AG Weser in Bremen Gröpelingen was one of the largest shipyards in Europe. Today, the site is home to the Waterfront – a shopping mall. In 2021, Katrin Bretschneider, whose parents met while working at the shipyard, staged a participatory audio performance on the former shipyard site about the identity-forming and solidarity-based labour struggles of the past and poses questions about utopias of future work.

The further development of the performance into an audio walk can be heard here permanently.
